Pets are fine, but I simply don't understand getting obsessive and emotional over an animal. I thought it was Brit thing, but they're just as bad in France.

I don't have any problem with people
getting soppy with their pets, I just don't find it remotely interesting.

Maybe if someone kept lions, and they killed the postman, it'd make for a gripping read. Bonzo licking his nuts in front of the vicar - not so much.
