This is a question Mums

Mrs Liveinabin tells us: My mum told me to eat my vegetables, or I wouldn't get any pudding. I'm 32 and told her I could do what I like. I ate my vegetables. Tell us about mums.

Havent spoken to my mother for years
apparently I'm a big disappointment, and dont deserve to be spoken to.

The only stories I have about my mother are ones that contain the words "why cant you be more like [anyone but me]"

Reading your stories makes me wish I had a mother who was prepared to accept me the way I am.

I don't get on with my mum. Parents got divorced when I was young and I was always used as an emotional weapon because I looked like my dad (so she told me).

She would tell people with glee about anything bad that happened to me, and I never did anything quite as well as my brother, who achieved nothing in life apart from running away from paying bills and any kind of responsibility.

It's a shame because she now has grandkids who see here the same way as me (kids are very good at spotting unreasonable behaviour) and don't want to visit here either.

She still writes me letters telling me how rotten I am, but never admitting that it's her bad behaviour that keeps us all away.

Still, got a great family now and she is the one losing out.

If you have children of your own
you can put it right by treating them differently.

Having a relationship with your parents is a mixed blessing, I can assure you.
I presume not having one is the same. I say try to work with what you have. Ultimately, it's all about you.

yup
I'm a bit left out too seeing as my mother did the dirty and left us. Doesn't really make for a good mum story on QOTW.

Is there a sort of
Mum Swap-Shop thingy anywhere?

If there is
I will put in my 85 years old, God fearing, biased mother with a garden cane because hitting me bruised her hands

This wasn't witty or funny!
Why can't you be more like Stephen Fry?
