This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

That I want to find an MP3 of the music the Windows XP plays on setup (language, computer name etc), remix it on the computer to bang in a genuine phat beat and use it as my phone's ringtone.
If anyone can help me find a copy of the music, gaz me and I'll love you long time.

It is an exercise for the reader to work out how to convert it to MP3.

I've installed XP hundreds of times (well about two dozen) and that's probably the first time I've heard this particular piece of music.
Something to do with the soundcard drivers not working until installation is complete and the computer has been restarted...
