How nerdy are you?This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

*comedy answer along the lines of 'this is b3ta, of course we're nerds ho ho ho'*- I once played WoW for 26 hours solid.
- I own a WoW t-shirt.
- I write reviews for Gamestyle (the UK's longest-running indie game website), and am also a moderator on the messageboards.
- I own a Japanese SNES and a PS2 modded to play NTSC games so I can play imports.
- I learn html and php just because I think it's fun.
- I own action figures, and lots of dragon figurines.
- I am obsessed with the Devil May Cry games and own the t-shirt, hat, soundtrack CDs, DVDs, memorial album, graphic file, manga, anime, novels and comics. I don't even like most manga and anime.
- I read George R R Martin.
- I use Linux at home (out of choice, as opposed to needing it for work), and am actually excited about the release of Ubuntu Hardy.
- I own a Linux t-shirt.
- I got WoW running under WINE.
- I have over 7gb of videogame music.
- I have over 100 videogames.
- I have met the creator of Rayman.
- I collect, and play with, out of print Fighting Fantasy books.
- I own a NeGcon and an Onimusha Soul controller.
- I still use IRC.
- I bought a PS3 on release day.
- My PSP has a custom faceplate.
- I own about 300 music CDs.
- I have a subscription to New Scientist.
- I made myself a Soul Reaver t-shirt. (I had to give it to my bro because I didn't forsee that my boobs would distort the design so much.)
- I have read all the Discworld books. I don't consider that nerdy, but as some other people have mentioned them I thought I would too.
In my defence, I have never seen any Star Wars, and LotR bores the everloving fuck out of me. I went along to my uni's tabletop RPG club but was a bit intimidated by it all. I do have some d20s just because they're purdy, though.
