How nerdy are you?This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

There's no worse geek than a VW geek.I knew a guy who had a beautifully restored split-window VW Bus.
It was all he talked about. He would attend VW shows in it, and he boasted that he once drove from here to Morocco in it without breaking down (apparently something of an achievement for an old aircooled VW.)
I was gutted for him when the local youths robbed it, crashed it and set it on fire. You wouldn't have thought a van was worth crying about, but the guy was never quite the same since.
He's had a few Veedubs since then - mostly Mk1 Golfs and Beetles. And they're still all he talks about.

I've got to admit I do like them myself.I once had a Scirocco that I loved dearly, unfortunately it was falling to bits so I had to get shot of it.
But this guy's life revolved around VWs. I suppose old age, retirement and a steady drink habit leads to boredom.
