How nerdy are you?
This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

Computers
In my room I have the following:
PC with Q6600 (quad-core) processor, 4GB RAM, 2 500GB hard drives, 2 graphics cards (I'm not even a gamer)
3GHz P4 laptop
1GHz Duron laptop
P2 board that isn't connected to anything
8085, Z80 (these two run CP/M), 6502, COSMAC 1802 and 8088 computers hand-soldered by myself from individual components. Most of these involve programming in assembler for the bare metal. (The 1802 and 8088 ones aren't working properly, and neither is my attempt at this: Build Your Own ZX80) Also have a 68K chip I plan to build something with after I've got the 8088 one working.
BBC Buggy for which I have made a serial port interface, as I have the RML 480Z interface but no 480Z.
In my brother's room (because mine is too small) I have the following:
Sun Ultra 5
SGI Octane (dual processor, but the slowest one)- it's big, heavy and green.
iMac G3 400MHz
1.2GHz Duron board that isn't connected to anything at the moment
In the garage are all kinds of old computers including ZX81, RM Nimbus (anyone remember playing stuff like Smile and Granny's Garden on these?), BBC, C64, MSX, Spectrum, QL, CPC464, Mac Classic, Amiga, ST and more.
More information about me: I have Asperger Syndrome, live with my parents, and am single. 98% in GCSE Maths, something similarly high in A-Level Physics. Degree made up mostly of CompSci.
