How nerdy are you?
This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

Rem's reminded me
Although I didn't know before now that it was nerdy, I guess it's worth mentioning, if others think so.
I'm trilingual (English, French, German), with a good understanding of several other languages, such as Dutch, Russian, Japanese, Chinese (more Cantonese than Mandarin), and so on. My CV, rather nerdily, has
"This CV is also available in French or German.
Diese Lebenslauf ist auch in der Franzosisch und Deutsche Sprache vorhanden.
Cette CV est aussi disponible en francais ou allemand."
Printed proudly at the top.
This has resulted in me being a big nerd for languages, and especially the English language.
I can't watch Star Trek, because the opening sequence has a split infinitive, and I still can't get over it.
I have been known to not go into a shop because some of the signage featured a misplaced apostrophe.
And I read the BBC News Website's Magazine daily. And MM, too. I get annoyed when no letters are posted by 7pm, it feels like my day has been violated.

Well...
I figure anything even vaguely intellectual seems to be labeled as 'nerdy' by popular opinion. Plus, being multilingual is fun. :)
I'm the same way about shops. If they can't spell or punctuate properly, I don't want to buy from them.
Apologies for any grammatical mistakes in this comment--I'm a stickler for spelling, but grammar trips me up sometimes.

Linguistic Pedant
I approve heartily, sir, multilingualism is not nerdy at all, and I condemn those who denounce it as such. But as someone who claims such pride in their linguistic ability, I must make a small retort: "Cette" CV?

Hmmmm
The sentence immediately after you denounced the Star Trek split infinitive contains a split infinitive! Did you put that in deliberately in order to snare other like-minded grammar fascists?

Pedantry
Why would your French CV say "aussi disponible en francais et allemand"? Surely it should be "anglais et allemand", no? (similar point for the German line)
Pedantry on b3ta, the lowest of all nerdy bollocks!
