This is a question The nicest thing someone's ever done for me

In amongst all the tales of bitterness and poo, we occasionally get fluffy stories that bring a small tear to our internet-jaded eyes.

In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.

Failing that, what nice things have you done for other people, whether they liked it or not?

I have just spent
the whole day ripping out carpets and painting the hall, stairs & landing. Just then, completely unbidden and un-asked for, my wife has just landed in through the door with a chilled case of 12 assorted Wychwood ales.

How nice is that!

That is nice
As are Wychwood Ales. Yum. They taste better when earned through hard work too, so enjoy!

They are indeed
very, very yummy. It may hae backfired as i then started to drink all the ales and promptly forgot anything about decorating...

Hobgoblin
Was one of my most favourite, bottled ales for ages. (and it is nice in fruit cakes too)

Mine too.
never tried it in fruit cakes though. Might be good in a steak and hobgoblin pie as well?
