This is a question The nicest thing someone's ever done for me

In amongst all the tales of bitterness and poo, we occasionally get fluffy stories that bring a small tear to our internet-jaded eyes.

In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.

Failing that, what nice things have you done for other people, whether they liked it or not?

Get off your bum
and call her.

Tell her exactly what you feel.

What have you to loose?

She already knows how I feel
I'd rather keep her as a friend, a fantastic friend, than try to force a relationship to work when our combined situation is so inhospitable to a long term relationship.

She said at the time we broke up that it would be a while before she felt ready to pursue that so I'm trying to give her the time and space she needs.

I text her when I felt ready to give friendship a try and have taken her lack of response to mean she's not ready yet.

Whether she's not ready or feels she no longer wants to try friendship is unimportant - I wont be texting her again unless she's contacted me first. My primary concern is that she does what she feels is most likely to make her happy, and well, in the long term.

This is commendable
and probably the right course of action.

Sounds like you're getting stronger every day.
