I went to a boarding school, and there were five 'phones between about 700 of us.Waaaaaay before mobile 'phones.
I reckon at any given time I'd probably have around 15-20 numbers in my head - my mum, my dad, my sisters, uncle & aunt, grandparents, and sundry mates and lots of girls - all of which I could recite instantly.
Now? I often have to use my mobile's address book to look up my home land-line number ...
