I fully believe this statement
"2. I pleaded guilty to a common assault of **** *** despite the fact that his evidence was not compelling and was directly contradicted by evidence from the doctor who treated him: in the interests of closure I have not pursued a private prosecution against him"

on the grounds that a criminal record for assault and 40 days in chokey are infinitely preferable to not having the closure that would come from my being vindicated and set free. Of course.
