It's surprisingly hard to buy decent hardback editions of even popular books.Once the paperbacks come out, you can only get the hardback editions from "collectible" sellers. I'm not even after first editions, just nice, hardback copies.
When I decided to become snobbish about it, I had no idea it'd be so obstructive. Now it's too late.
