Compulsory

Compulsory?!
You go to one of those mental schools, don't you
(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:33, Reply)
No, a secular state high school.

(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:34, Reply)
What else is compulsory?
I'm still struggling to get my head around this. Is it that the school feels 9 proper subjects are enough to deal with so you have to take one complete waste of time?
(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:37, Reply)
Maths, English, RE and Citizen are all compulsory.

(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:38, Reply)
Science as well surely.

Things have changed a bit in the millennia since I was your age
Am befuddled as to why anyone would take three science subjects if they didn't have to, but I am in the minority amongst geeks in this respect

What the hell's "Citizen" all about?

(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:41, Reply)
Citizenship, about the workings of the country.
Politics and shit.
(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:43, Reply)
Christ, that sounds bent.

(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:43, Reply)
It's an attempt to drill some ethics and responsibility into children.
I'm all for it.
(, Thu 25 Aug 2011, 12:44, Reply)
Very, very basic politics. Not really a credible amount.
