I don't have the figures but suspect that VAT may not have had to be increased as far as 20% if it had been sold in the last few months instead to help reduce the deficit.

There's alot of folded arms and tutting in the Euroland and precious little else. QE is having little effect. Still continued low interest rates leaves the austute quids in.
