There are plenty of people in America who dismiss any such claims as "alarmism"I distinctly remember one chap replying to a post on a forum to say "if there is a problem with the earth's climate our scientists will sort it out".
The bulk of his post was used to defend the Bush Presidency, so he was obviously an idiot; unfortunately there are millions of idiots like him across the pond. They call themselves Republicans.
