you definitely shouldn't be able to sack people at a moment's noticebut on the other hand, unions make it damn near impossible to sack people who are utterly useless at their jobs. There's got to be some kind of better balance than we currently have.
Also, for all the positive things about unions, one quick dose of RMT and the most left-wing yoghurt knitter starts secretly praying for the return of Thatcher.
