The reason the military didn't issue the XM214 to troopsis because the gun weighs 35kg, 1000 rounds of ammunition weighs 35kg and it reuires two truck batteries to provide power for the motor, which weigh almost as much.
Even Blaine would not have been able to carry the M134.

The minimal dialogue scene in the helicopter at the start of Predator....is a masterclass in character development and establishing a group dynamic.
