What do you think of Labour's suggestion to reduce VAT?I don't think it would stimulate spending as they suggest, as retailers etc wouldn't cut prices, instead they'd use it as an opportunity to increase margin.

I think going back to 17.5% would be for the best.But it's not a priority at the moment, increasing margins for retailers is generally not a bad thing economically but it doesn't help most.
There was a suggestion that start ups shouldn't have to pay any tax at all for the first two years, that would increase growth and employment significantly, at a fairly low cost.
