Ah well, this shows you to be the twit that you are.You see, a mirror has a coating on the rear surface, which if you put glue on will eventually peel off. Unless you put the glue on the glass side this would explain why your room looks dark. Perhaps you have a mirror with the silvering on the front, such as used in telescopes. Then you could glue the back.
