Did you witness any swinging parties taking place?

No, just ones where we ate porridge, wore kilts and played bagpipes.

I like Scotland, my wife is from Edinburgh and we got married at Edinburgh cathedral.

I know this.
Was it St Giles Cathedral?

Beautiful building. And there is something to be said for the elegance of the Presbyterian take on Christianity as opposed to the near-Catholic CoE stuff.

And yes, I am well aware re. transubstantiation etc, but CoE services are very similar to RC ones in terms of all the pomp etc.

Yes it was St Giles. My mother-in-law is an 'elder' of the CoS. We would have got married somewhere non religious except she would have been very upset.
The fact that we aren't having a christening for our daughter has not gone down well...

The CoS thing of only needing a bible to worship God is a wonderful view of things.
It's a pity that religion is such a crock of shit though.
