This is trueI've applied for plenty of jobs like that, that might as well have been tailor made and got nowhere. But with this one I actually have extra experience in what they're looking for, qualifications that tie in etc. Fingers crossed!
Also on the boring bit, don't be ridiculous. You're just not showing them the appropriate cutting humour (high risk tactic right there of course.)
