I had some friends around for a selection of salads and a conversation about building second houses abroad.Do I win the "Middle Class of the Day" award?

That was the crux of the discussion.We're building houses from scratch to rent to locals. Another couple are in the process of renovating a pile of rubble to rent to ex-pats. I strongly contend that theirs is a mug's game.
