apparently NO modulates estrogen's effect on osteoblast activity.
at least in rats. Says pubmed.

However that's nitric, not nitrous oxide, and I would assume the take-home from that is that NO might be able to control bone loss associated with the menopause. Which is pretty much the exact opposite of what you reckon the Mail said, so no surprise there from the shitrag.
