I don't think it is strange at all.Both countries have different laws on weapons that can be carried, so something like a tazer is a big deal here, but not so much in the land of the free, the brave and the gun nut.
Next weekend will certainly be worse, as I will be working. I had this weekend off, it was double awesome.
