Obviously anyone should be able to wear any symbol of their religion they like
as long as it's not deliberately provocative or offensive. It's basically emblematic of a long-held love or belief and is therefore no different from wearing a football shirt or band T-shirt. But just as if you wear a Hanson T-shirt to a Slayer gig or a Liverpool shirt whilst strolling through Manchester, in certain circumstances you're going to get shit for it, and no amount of religious pride or gross naivete will change that.
