Yeah, I know. It's a badly designed engine.Most of its problems come from BL being shit, though. Its biggest native problem is the iron block and alloy head issue. Though that's not endemic to the TV8. The Rover K had a similar issue only that one used a metal gasket. Stupid idea.
My original comment is really that if they're properly maintained they are perfectly reliable. You just have to know what you're doing.
