My friend Dave had one of those to clean his motocross bike with.
At parties he'd fill it with alcohol. He called it the port cannon. It was painful and sticky. Much like your mum.

I just spent days sat behind a desk,
Bleeping books through, occasionally re shelving, helping the odd old bag find a mills and boon she hadn't frotted over yet, te most exciting part of my day was getting to repair damaged books.
Everyone there was nuts or a million years old.
Admittedly, I was in a tiny library in the middle of nowhere, a city library might be a rip roaring hub of fun.
