Overtime just means you haven't worked hard enough during the previous months
And got away with it.

When I used to work for a living
The three gaffers - me and two others - used to have a look at where we stood on a Thursday morning.

We'd then slow the teams down if we could to give us Saturday morning overtime. "Slowing down" often meant chucking a block of wood in the conveyor belt.
