They're cherry pickers.Whether that's styles or band members. It's kind of like good sampling, taking the best bits of genres and bands. They're also very very good live and are just a rock n' roll band.
Patchy as hell though, don't get me wrong, for every sheer gem like Kill All Hippies, there's a piece of shit like Funky Jam.
I can see why Weatherall digs them so much, it's that whole wearing your influences on your sleeve thing. Also, Weatherall is rarely wrong.
