@ K2k6The system we're using is for wastewater treatment- the final stage before dumping the water from the sewage treatment plant is to kill any nasties that live in the water, either by chemicals (clorine) or radiation (UV). The water is relatively clear, so passing it between UV tubes that are four inches apart seems to do the trick.
Apparently the UV is so intense that over time it breaks down the glass tubes. O_o
