baby_kitten is referring to Zero Degrees, at the top of the Christmas Steps. Good beer, food's okay, service is appauling. There's a pub not far from there called the Ship. I wouldn't recommend it; I'm merely drawing your attention to the fact that I worked there for 6 months. :)
The Tobacco Factory on North Street in Bristol is pretty nice. The food's fab. North Street has come a long way since I lived there, nearly 10 years ago.
The bars on the floating harbour can be a bit hit and miss, best avoided on a Saturday night. Sitting outside the Arnolfini in the sun having a beer is always nice though. And there's a cider pub on a boat, I want to say at the end of King Street which I went to for my leaving do which is one of my favourite bars in Brizzle.
I also like the market in Corn Street...
Bath is just pretty. And hard to navigate. And hilly. Never had a bad night out there though.
