Yeah, typical Dr Who "logic"but we'll see. That said is there ever a reference to the various Dr's going "oh yeah, I'm the 6th" or whatever?

There was a reference in that episode about Smith being the 11thand there have been 11 people playing the Doctor. So if he's from previously in the timeline then all that "he broke the promise" business was their exploit.
