I actually prefer to sit nodding my head gently to the 5/4 time signature, appreciating the finer nuances of the discordant harmonies, and looking like I have some idea about what I'm listening to.
Actually, that's bollocks. Modern and avant garde jazz is too self indulgent for me. I do prefer something with a tune of sorts.
