A '61 Reissue SG

Yeah, the lapsteel's loads of fun...I need a couple more bits for it though. A decent tone bar would be a start. I'm just using my guitar slide at the moment, and it's a bit light.

I have this:

Oh nice
I've got an Epi G400 SG, and it's brilliant. They're really good value for money, the Epiphones.

What's the pickup selector on that guitar? 3 way or 5 way?

It plays great - the thin neck suits me hands better than my Tele, but there are a couple of buzzy frets: it needs setting up but I have no funds to get it done.

Ah, I could do it for you
If I lived nearer, that is.

I wonder if you could upgrade it and put in a 5 way. That's what I'd do, anyway.

If I'm honest I'm a fucking moron when it comes to tech stuff.
I just crank the reverb up and noodle away in a surf/garage style most of the time.

I'm a moron when it comes to everything
but I do know my way around a guitar.

That makes you 4.6% less of a moron than me.
