@ DGIf you want some classy anime to try and change your mind, may I recommend Elfen Lied? Very dark, very gory, has been described as "barely disguised hentai" but the plot draws you in and keeps you there, as there are so many questions waiting to be answered. It's the only anime to ever make Mr Maladicta cry.
Also, there's something bizarrely appealing about a girl who will slice you to bits with invisible arms one minute, and regresses into an innocent being who can only say "nyuuu" the next.
