In the short term it wouldn't change at all.I'd put the capital into the highest interest account I could find and get the interest paid somewhere else. I'd use that to overpay on the mortgage I'll be taking out with my inheritance. From there on in, I'd use the interest to start saving for another deposit from whence I'd become a slum landlord just like Nakers.
