@SpakkaYes, absolutely. I try to do as much travel as possible (that's not easily done by bicycle) by train. It's far less hassle, and if you book far enough in advance, it can be really quite cheap. Hell, I just booked tickets to Newcastle for the end of August, and it only came to about 50 pounds return, taking 2 1/2 hours each way: this is cheaper and faster than flying (once you take into account airport taxes etc, and check-in times for flying).
