Very good, I bought a car!
It's currently in the local garage having the list of broken stuff I made whilst I was driving to and from Basingstoke fixed.

I trust it's a Nissan Figaro?

Is that the Mark 2?
First car I had was a 1992 Golf Mark 2 1.3. I loved it.

You don't need search for that buddy, The Lord shall guide you.

That's the one!
Been pining away for seven years since I owned my last one.
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 10:01, Reply)
aren't you supposed to check it for broken stuff before you buy it?
I find that's more efficient in the long run.
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:32, Reply)
It's a 23 year old car.
It's always going to have mechanical stuff wrong when you buy it. The important thing is that it's not rusting away underneath you.
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:38, Reply)
absolutely.
Although IME it's perfectly possible to find ones that are neither mechanically nor structurally broken. Although I suppose it depends on the model and what sort of retard owned it before.

Fully sorted cars are about 3 to 4 grand.
I got this one for about 1500. It's going to need to cost me a fair whack before I'm down on the deal. I'm pretty happy!
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:41, Reply)
well, you know
you've just bought a golf, so you're obviously easily pleased ;)
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:48, Reply)
Does that mean you'll shut up about it now
or merely that 'I might buy a car' will be replaced by 'I am now looking for a 1979 Austin Allegro wing mirror'?

Just so I'm prepared, you understand.

No, it's got a great bodyshell and all its interior and exterior bits are in great condition.
It's just mechanical stuff, which I don't generally mention as people tend to laugh at me.
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:35, Reply)
Yes you'd never go into tedious detail about car parts on here for fear of ridicule.
It's something I've noticed about you.
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:47, Reply)
Well, if somebody starts talking to me about it
I'm going to respond without worrying too much about how you're feeling about it, old chum.
(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 10:01, Reply)
If he lives anywhere near Al, we will no doubt hear a lot about his wing mirrors

(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:35, Reply)
No Allegro chat.

(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:35, Reply)
That's what I'm hoping for with all my heart.

(, Mon 19 Aug 2013, 9:44, Reply)
Heading for GOLF CHAT instead old chap.
