Following last week's QOTW, I managed to fix the video player which was on the blink for the last 6 months or so [I un-plugged the scart plug and put it back in really firmly - did the trick nicely], so spent the best part of Saturday morning watching Toy Story parts I & II ...on my own. Bliss.
We also watched 'The Hours' last night. Forgot to mention it but it is well worth a look: excellent acting throughout, brilliant links between 3 stories, one set in the 30s, one in the 50s and the third in 2001 - all around the theme of Virginia Woolfe's book 'Mrs Dalloway'. Warning: it is not a happy film but don't let this stop you watching it. Oh, and the Phillip Glass soundtrack is also very atmospheric and stands apart from most film scores. Ed Harris is brilliant as always, so is Julieanne Moore and Nicole Kidman is very good too; I'm not a huge Meryl Streep fan, but she is well cast here, but the outstanding performance is probably the little boy (Jack Rovello - look out for him in the future). This film guarantees tears from Mrs G from round about the opening credits.
EDIT: Morning folks!
