I tend to find
that the people who travel to other countries tend to be better educated, reasonably smart and willing to be open to new things and respectful of the ways of others.

I could easily introduce you to Americans you'd hate within five minutes of meeting- just as you could introduce me to chavs and pikeys I'd loathe... but we'd have to travel to do so.

When I was over there this past winter I met some quite intoxicated northern guys playing snooker, and one of them invited me to take the shot for him. I smiled and said that I really only know billiards, but I'd be willing to shoot anyway. I did, and of course was crap at it- but they laughed and asked me eagerly about America and how I liked England, and were the nicest people I could have asked to meet. So far I haven't met any English people I haven't gotten along well with...
