Ethelred reminds meEver tried a Lifesaver? It's an American sweet, shaped like a lifebelt (geometrically similar to a Polo mint, in that it's toroidal, but a bit bigger).
It tastes like Germolene. The most revolting bloody sweet I've ever tasted, and one of the few that I've ever spat out. To put that into context, I actually enjoy Toxic Waste sweets.
