Maladicta, go to the doctor.
Sometimes a bit of physio can help. I had some on my "dodgy" knee joint (the result of one too many cycling accidents) and although it hurt to start with it did strengthen the muscles. I haven't hurt it recently (crosses fingers in case the damn thing gives out tomorrow).
