you may be sick of hearing about my new bathroom
but I need some help.

I've spent ages trying to find just the right tiles, and after having done so I have absolutely no idea what colour to paint the rest of the room.

for reference, I am tiling round the bath, the wall with the shower on is going to be matt black stone looking tiles and the other walls the same tiles but off-white. fixtures are all chrome type stuff.

any suggestions?

I'm thinking maybe a light grey....

Brown...
With black/chrome/white you need some softer tones to balance it out...

I reckon something along the lines of Humbrol Light Earth ought to do it.

Well if you were in touch with your feminine side I would say pink.
But a light grey would be good.

Bert: I was ready to give you a torrent of abuse
but actually that might look quite good

I don't want to distract from the tiles though, because they are going to look awesome

A little bastard of a boy once called me a 'shitwank'
Worst thing is, I wasn't even wanking him at the time.

Ploppypants is an old favourite of mine, doodyhead.

Verdigris
Not only would it work, it has a fancy name.
(, Thu 31 Jul 2008, 11:23, Reply)
I'd have a hard time
convincing Mrs Vipros that verdigris would look good....

I reckon it would though, and she had been going on about some stone/metallic copper floor tiles...

boring boring boring
what you want is a dark burgundy red. Looks ace with black and makes your jacks look dead posh. P'raps then a leather studded back rest on your cistern matched by a similar finish round the sink and bath.

if you have a Brewers any where near you, I seriously recommend their Albany paints wot they mix instore. It's great for edging and covers almost on one coat. And you can patch up months later and the colours still blend in, even really strong ones. And it's pretty cheap.

EDIT: Soft sheen emulsion one. Very slight sheen on it and wipe cleanable.

we do have one
it would seem

I will check the stuff out
