Question for any bankers *snigger*
My girlfriend is a Canadian Citizen, and we need a joint UK Account for our move to india (as she will be a dependent). She doesn't qualify for a dependent visa in India, neither for the UK. Is it possible for a non-resident to get a joint account with a British Citizen?
Sorry for lack of funny and whatnot ;)

bank accounts
It really shouldn't be a problem; if she has evidence of ID such as passport and evidence of UK address you and she just need to present yourselves at a branch to open your account and Bobs your fathers brother!

The problem is, she's not a UK resident, and we wil be moving to india in 1 month. But anyway barclays seem to think that she can get a bank account.

My wife and I
have a joint account. She's Japanese and doesn't hold UK citizenship, which I think would be the same situation you are in.
I'm not sure if marriage status changes anything, but I doubt it.
