@Edtrue, but Bond is more than just the character; it's the stories, the gadgets, the villains, the theme tunes and the girls. Q came into his own under Roger Moore's patronage giving us the underwater Lotus for example. Look at Sorin played by Christopher Walken. Great villain. Solitaire played by Jane Seymour - apart from the Contessa in 'Majesty's', my favourite ever Bond girl. Beatles 'Live And Let Die'... etc
Oh, and I love George Lazenby. In 'Majesty's', Bond is at his most human. He falls deeply in love, gets married and loses the great love of his life. This explains why he uses and discards all the others. It's really quite tragic :)
