I tried doing a system restore....a number of timesDidn't work.
Pooflake, I think that's exactly what I've done.
Buggeration indeed.
I shall now just have to break the law and download a torrent of it.
And no, I'm still not telling what it was....
But thanks for everyone's suggestions anyway...I did learn something, so it was worthwhile.
