Rude.
I've just lied to a family friend to get off going to a blessing of their baby. Mostly because her husband is a skin head lager lout football hooligan and the idea of spending a night in the pub with them is my idea of hell

I'd have done the same.

Also.
Get it christened or don't fucking bother. Anglican blessing Bollocks.
(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:11, Reply)
I thought the Anglican church conducted christenings?

(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:14, Reply)
They do.

(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:27, Reply)
Christianity. Yuck.

(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:28, Reply)
No no, they're Anglican ,
Well, they don't go to church or anything, but they are Anglican. But they don't want a christening, as that involves making promises in front of god, so they're having it blessed. I don't really get it.

Bollocks isn't it? If they weren't religious at all they'd have a naming ceremony or not bother at all.
Bets are being hedged eh?

I thought it might be for school stuff,
But that makes no sense.
(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:46, Reply)
And isn't necessary for schools unless they're mussies or left footers.

(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:47, Reply)
Yeah,
Maybe it's for the attention. Or an excuse for mum to get shit faced.

Alright WP. My local's been flogged off by Greene King to some new pubco.
Any thoughts?
(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:52, Reply)
Depends on who bought it.
And also why GK sold up. Chances are they want some other pub more, and with monopoly riles and such had to sell to get something else. Any idea who bought it?
(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:53, Reply)
So this is really the gentle, middle class, educated and intelligent bit of the internet then.
I'd say so.
(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:11, Reply)
Too right.
You been out to vote? The roman party caught my eye on the ballot paper.
(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:12, Reply)
I have voted - twice, in my neck of the woods.

I can't remember off the top of my head
But was Richard J not the one that got Debs and Bill Heyward incarcerated?

Edit - no he wasn't. He was the one who survived the ring investigation.
(, Thu 22 May 2014, 20:24, Reply)
No.
