Dogs FTW. They love you unconditionally, they're always happy to see you, they don't plot your death, and they'll bring you your morning paper.

I do like cats too, but dogs are the awesome.

(I will never get a pedigree dog, not after that BBC documentary. We're getting a Rhodesian Ridgeback WITHOUT the ridge. This is how the breed should be - the ridge is a spinal defect similar to Spina Bifida that has been bred in to the dogs. 1 in 9 puppies are born without the ridge, and are culled as they're not breed standard, even though they're healthier and will live longer (the ridge on a 'normal' ridgeback is full of tiny holes that creaures can get in and burrow down causing horrible infection.

Also, did you know that of 80,000 bulldogs in the UK, there are only 80 genetically unique individuals? They've been in bred that much. Seriously, google pictures of what these pedigree breeds looked like 100 years ago and you'll be shocked.
