"Hoots, mon"
always amuses me! It's bizarre how these phrases become stereotypical yet are never actually uttered unless in jest, or quotation.
Similarly, "Och aye, the noo" is never said by a Scot.
"Och aye" is used, but never followed by "the noo", because it is totally meaningless!
Stereotypes are great.
