Oh...Captain V, I think we're on other sides of the fence then.
Humans have fucked up, that's an in escapable fact. Something big and bad will happen soon enough, and billions will die.
I figure in the meantime if people want to build massive sci-fi looking machines, then go for it.
EDIT: K2k6... I heard that there're "cosmic rays" with billions of times more energy than the LHC protons will move at.
